A housekeeper at West Point military academy could face up to two years in military prison if convicted of trying to steal a bag of frozen meatballs.

The U.S. attorney's office said Estelle Casimir, 56, was charged with larceny and possession of stolen property, according to The Journal News, and pleaded not guilty at an arraignment last week in Middletown. Her lawyer, Michael Ferraro, would not comment on the case.

Big banks can steal the homes from millions of Americans without setting foot inside a jail cell, but military prison over a bag of crappy frozen meatballs?!? Putting a little more perspective on this, Ms. Casimir would face the same amount of time in prison as Trent Mays was sentenced to serve following his conviction in the Steubenville rape trial.

According to a signed affidavit, the operations manager on duty at West Point, spotted Casimir trying to hide a black bag with her hand and asked her what it was.

"Nothing, it is garbage," Casimir reportedly replied.

After some reluctance, Casimir revealed the bag of meatballs, the affidavit states.

Investigators say that Casimir is responsible for cleaning latrines in the mess hall, and that her job does not include the handling or disposing of food.

Court papers do not specify the number of meatballs involved. A company official who declined to give his name said Casimir is suspended, pending the outcome of the case. Casimir said she’s been looking for housecleaning work.

“I just sit in the house,” she said. “I don’t have anything to do.”

ATF Raid Gun Store After Owner Doesn't Notice Man Stealing AR-15

WFSB 3 Connecticut

The ATF raided a gun store in East Windsor, Connecticut on Thursday evening after 26-year-old Jordan Marsh, who you can see in the video above stealing a rifle, was found to have an AR-15 with a scope in his possession at the Hartford Hilton on Saturday. Marsh did not pay for the gun, he simply took it off the rack and walked out of the store without anyone realizing it. Marsh reportedly has a history of mental illnesses and police believe he was planning to carry out an attack "similar" to that of Adam Lanza.

The gun store, Riverview Gun Sales, is also the same store where at least one of the guns used by Adam Lanza at the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings was purchased by his mother, Nancy Lanza.

The AR-15 was banned under the now expired Federal Assault Weapons Ban of 1994.

WFSB 3:

Police said Riverview Gun Sales had no idea the AR-15 Marsh stole was missing. Management at the store didn't know about 11 guns that Marsh had allegedly stolen last year until they were notified by detectives.

Inventory control issues at Riverview Gun Sales have occurred before. In 2007, state police raided a Somers home and found a bunch of stolen guns from the store.

"It was found that the same Riverview gun store was missing upwards of 30-plus guns," said East Windsor police Detective Matthew Carl.

[Emphasis mine.]

Hopefully, the ATF took the store's federal firearms license along with them when they left.

The banks are foreclosing on families while at the same time promising loan modifications. We cannot trust the banks to do the right thing. The governor, attorney-general and Legislature must become involved. The San Francisco County Recorder’s Office has audited a sampling of foreclosures and found that 84 percent involved one or more clear violations – proof of illegal foreclosures is housed in recorder’s offices in every county.

We must halt foreclosures with a moratorium to allow for an audit of ALL home loan and foreclosure records. NO MORE THROWING FAMILIES OUT OF THEIR HOMES. We also demand investigation and prosecution of those who unfairly took advantage of homeowners. We call for cooperation between county recorder’s offices, district attorneys and the state to track down all those who illegally profited from stealing the homes of thousands of families, putting many more in precarious situations and wrecking the U.S. economy for years, if not decades to come.

Are you in foreclosure? Know someone in foreclosure?

Angry about predatory lending and dual tracking?

Angry about how the banks have sucked up our money and stolen our homes?

Angry about their refusal to reduce homeowner debt to current values instead of foreclosing and selling
to “investors” for even less?

Angry about how the banks are killing the proposed California Homeowner Bill of Rights legislation?

Want to ask your state assembly member and senator why?

STOP FORECLOSURE FRAUD! DO NOT ALLOW THE BANKS TO STEAL YOUR HOME! COME OUT TO SHOW YOUR RESISTANCE TO THE BANKS! DEMAND THE GOVERNOR AND LEGISLATURE IMPOSE AN IMMEDIATE FORECLOSURE MORATORIUM TO STOP THE BLEEDING!
