In this spoof documentary, Bankwatch with Bill Oddie, the naturalist protests against HSBC's illegal logging by entering the den of a creature closely related to humans: the banker. HSBC has made nearly £100m bankrolling some of the world's most destructive logging companies in Sarawak Malaysia, and is at risk of violating international money laundering rules, according to NGO Global Witness.

At least 54 people were killed and over 100 more injured on Monday in a series of bomb blasts throughout Iraq, the latest in a series of escalating attacks linked to political and sectarian tension. Most of the dead were in Baghdad, where eight separate explosions rocked the capital, hitting bus stations and markets mainly in Shia areas of the capital. No group has taken responsibility for the bombings yet. Monday’s blasts come just one day after 10 police officers were reportedly killed in the northwest, and on Friday, at least 60 people were killed in three separate bombings in Sunni Muslim areas in and around Baghdad.

"Washing the blood off the streets - the clear-up begins after another deadly day of violence in Iraq. Here in Basra, a predominantly Shi'ite oil hub in the south, at least 11 people were killed when two car bombs exploded. One was detonated near a busy market and restaurants while the other went off in a bus terminal."

On October 1st, 25 million uninsured Americans will be able to sign up for health insurance through new health insurance marketplaces.

Don't be fooled by extremist members of Congress and their pointless efforts to repeal the healthcare law. Obamacare is the law of the land and on October 1st of this year, 25 million uninsured Americans will be able to enroll in health insurance plans through the newly created health insurance marketplaces.

Obamacare has already delivered benefits to 100 million Americans by:

- Providing preventive health services like well child visits, cancer screenings
and annual checkups at no additional cost;

- Allowing young adults to stay on a parent’s health insurance plan if they’re
under 26;

- Saving seniors on prescription medicines if they participate in Medicare;

- Providing coverage for people with pre-existing conditions; and

- Ending the worst insurance company abuses like charging women more than men for
the same coverage and putting arbitrary dollar limits on care.

Health insurance coverage will begin on January 1, 2014. Make sure everyone you know who is uninsured understands that healthcare access is close at hand.

House Republican leadership today responded to their session with President Obama in a press conference.

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) condemned the Internal Revenue Service targeting scandal on Wednesday, demanding that the administration hold someone responsible.

"The IRS admitted to targeting conservatives, even if the White House continues to be stuck on the word 'if,'" he told reporters at a weekly briefing. "My question isn't about who is going to resign. My question is who's going to jail over this scandal?"

Attorney General Eric Holder said on Tuesday he had ordered the FBI to open a criminal probe in a growing scandal over the Internal Revenue Service's targeting of conservative political groups for extra tax scrutiny.

Speaker Boehner made no mention of jobs during the Republican press conference today, nor did any of the other GOP House "leaders."
