Occupy our Homes: 'Whose House? Our House!'

December 6, 2011: In a Brooklyn neighborhood hard hit by the foreclosure crisis, Occupy Wall Street joins local community groups to reclaim a bank-owned property for a homeless family.

Occupy Our Homes, which grew out of Occupy Wall Street, takes aim at the foreclosure crisis. In December activists led a national day of action to take over vacant foreclosed homes.

The Occupy our Homes movement has led demonstrations in New York where members have "reclaimed" vacant homes "for the community." The movement has spread throughout the nation, and members are helping their communities fight back against homelessness caused by the foreclosure crisis.
