God's Circus Politics

A picture named Ring-leader1.jpg

Many in Congress are troubled by the decision and intend to do something about it. One of them is Rep. John Hostettler, R-Ind., who said the "unconstitutional decisions" by the high court do not have to be tolerated by either Congress or the White House. "Congress can remove funds for the enforcement of this unconstitutional ruling," he said. "And the president, in his executive prerogative, exercising his executive prerogative, can, as we say, just say no to the court."...read on"

As Cole says "They don't understand that we must display the Ten Commandments everywhere, because God would want it that way." I've always believed that the problem with this country is there are too few mentions of God and the Ten Commandments in our public schools too. I'm proposing a new amendment hereby stating that there must be as many pilars of truth erected in the cafeteria as there are Cirque de Soleil's in Vegas. Its "God's Circus Politics" after all. Hostettler is the new RIng Leader

Zogby Poll

No bounce for the Prez, and this is interesting: " In a sign of the continuing partisan division of the nation, more than two-in-five (42%) voters say that, if it is found that President Bush did not tell the truth about his reasons for going to war with Iraq, Congress should hold him accountable through impeachment...read on"

I know the Prez doesn't look at polls, but I have to say I was surprised by this one.

Field Poll-Registered California Voters for Senator

Diane Feinstein 62% Arnold Schwarzenegga 32%

Diane Feinstein 56 % Condi Rice 38 %

California isn't showing Arnold any love. Condi might do better running for Prez.

On June 29, 2005, President Bush's administration took action to implement the WMD Commission's recommendations. The WMD Commission was formed pursuant to Executive Order 13328 in order to address the myriad "intelligence failures" the Bush administration claims resulted in the misdiagnosis of Iraq's WMD program, or better yet, the lack of WMD program. As far as we can tell, the WMD commission came back with 68 recommendations. Of those 68 recommendatons, the Bush administration has agreed to follow 65 recommendations. Funny thing though, as it relates to the very last recommendation, the Bush administration held that "Further Study" was needed. The final recommendation reads:

"The Director of National Intelligence should hold accountable the organizations that contributed to the flawed assessments of Iraq's WMD programs."
Why would the White House need "further study" in order to determine whether it is sound policy to "hold accountable those organizations that contributed to the flawed assessments of Iraq's WMD programs"? Is it possible that the White House doesn't want to execute the last recommendation because it would mean that former Head of the CIA George Tenet would be accountable? And didn't he win the "Medal of Freedom"?

I suppose that would be embarassing, considering the President bestowed that medal on him. Is it possible that the White House doesn't want to execute the last recommendation because it would mean holding itself accountable? Ah hah! BINGO! Something tells me that this administration will need more time than they have available to "further study" this matter. (via BullDog)

Email and Comment Policy

I'm working up a little policy with the help of Jeralyn. Since the popularity of C&L's new "On-Line Magazine" has grown, there's been a lot going on in the comments section. Here's a sample of the new policy:

*Bandwidth is expensive. The comment space is reserved for comments that relate to the topic of the post . You may not reprint lengthy text from your own works or those of others, including news articles. You may link to them.

*Comments that are abusive, offensive, contain profane or racist material or violate the terms of service for this blog's host provider will be removed and the author(s) banned from future comments.

I didn't think I would have to do this. I welcome right wingers to come over and join in. I often find that is what makes blogging enjoyable. It's getting nasty. The emails are too, but unlike many who reprint them on their sites and try and say " liberals are bad, look at this email about me" is simply childish. I 'll post an email more for humor than anything else. More on this later...

(Update)-I don't care about the language all that much,( I'm a NY'er) but some people are going way over the top, mostly from the trolls. Some are putting in page upon page of text to make a point. That's too much. Some comments are by the same person posting as different people. If you have to hide-goodbye. I should have been a little clearer about the trolls. My bad.
