Operation Yellow Elephant-Special Ops-Blogad

From Jesus General

The General is proud to announce that a fellow conservative has finally lent his support to OPERATION YELLOW ELEPHANT

Captain's Quarters, a godly, heterosexual, conservative blog began a running an advertisement for the operation earlier today. A screen cap appears at right. Hopefully, this will encourage our fellow conservatives to finally walk their talk and sign up to fight for the war they so desperately wanted and so fervently support. we haven't seen any of them step up, yet, although one courageous patriot did expend some energy turning our military's dire manpower needs into a joke. I guess that's a start.

The ad was designed jointly by the General and Corporal Bill from Crooks and Liars. The good corporal also funded it. Please go over there and show him your appreciation. ..read on

Roe

via Eschaton has a poll posted: CNN just flashed up poll results regarding Roe. 65% want a justice who would uphold Roe. 47% of Republicans want a justice who would uphold Roe (verus 46% who want one who would overturn it).

Also check out his Muppet Show. I need to get those puppets to join God's Clown Circus.

Blogger joins the Army-OYE (satire)

via Riding Sun: Jordan Kulundzic, MD, won an argument about the Iraq war today by enlisting in the US Army. Kulundzic, 34, a resident gastroenterologist at Passiac Beth Israel Hospital, also maintains the conservative blog "I’m All Right" (imallright.blogspot.com). Yesterday, that blog became the site of a heated political debate when a commenter, identified only the screen name “ihatebush209”, challenged Kulundzic’s support for the US-led invasion of Iraq.

"I wrote this really long essay about why I support the war in Iraq," Kulundzic said. "I thought I had covered every angle, including the need to be absolutely sure that Saddam had no WMD’s, the moral case for liberating the Iraqi people, and the long-term strategic importance of spreading democracy throughout the volatile Middle East."

“But then ihatebush209 just tore my arguments to shreds,” he said.

ihatebush209’s comment read, "Hey, mister Keyboard Kommando, if you like the war so much, why don’t you go and fight it, you little chickenhawk? Buc-buc-buc bu'CAW!!!" ...read on

Conference Call with Ted Kennedy

I was just on a call with some other On-Line Magazine editors and Sen Kennedy said that he hopes there isn't a fight over this nomination, but that conservative groups have already lined up 18 million dollars to promote their choice. A fight is indeed expected unfortunately because of the dollars that are involved. I fear a very big "God's Clown Circus" to ensue. Sen. Kennedy also praised Justice O'Connor for her service over the years.

(Update)-Eschaton writes: In the early 90s, when the Democrats were in control of the Senate, President Clinton consulted with the ranking minority member, Orrin Hatch, about SC appointments. Hatch himself bragged in his autobiography that he was the person who suggested Ginsburg and Breyer. This rather important fact will, of course, be left entirely out of the media conversation on this topic."

-----------------

I saw Orrin on Hannity and Colmes a few months ago. Hannity tried to disprove the fact that Hatch did submit names to help the nomination process along with President Clinton. Hatch told him that was the truth and dispelled Hannity's attempt to rewrite that part of history.

John Dean has an interesting article

Here's one of the bigger Circus Clowns chimming in: Dobson: "Today marks a watershed moment in American history: the resignation of a swing-vote justice on the Supreme Court and the opportunity to change the Court’s direction. The rulings by the Court this June, particularly the schizophrenic decisions on the 10 Commandments cases, have once again demonstrated the desperate need for justices who will interpret the Constitution as it was written, not as the latest fads of legal theorists dictate."

Are you sick of it already?

Operation Yellow Elephant-Update

This is very funny: Hippie Terrorist gone wild.

Don't fall over when you read this: "Obviously these hippies would rather support a draft dodger (both Bill Clinton and Howard Dean) than members of the current Bush administration who have extensive military careers."

Should somebody email this guy and ask him when his beloved President Bush served in Vietnam, or when "Last Throes" Cheney served?

You've got to read the comments. Emailer DC says: These young Republicans' arguments are totally incoherent, and the people are rising up and calling them on it. And they're not liking it too much.

Raw Story has Harry Reid's statement.

The Constitution gives the President and the Senate shared responsibility to fill this vacancy, because the President may only act with the Advice and Consent of the Senate. At this critical moment, the President must recognize the Senate's constitutional role. He should give life to the Advice and Consent Clause by engaging in meaningful consultation with Senators of both political parties.

Andrew Sullivan is a wee-bit optimistic:"This is a critical moment for the president, a moment when he can reach back to a political center he has recently eschewed during a war in which a bitter and divisive internal fight should be avoided, if at all possible. I'm hoping for a reasonable and not overly ideological choice. What I'm expecting is another matter."

Liberal Oasis has a plan: When we fight Bush nominees this summer, we must do our best to avoid getting bogged down in technical, procedural matters.

John Cole says: This is going to be one ugly confirmation battle.

Santorum's book is here!

Santorum's argument (after reading the first 39 pages) is that if you're in a relationship and living with that person outside of marriage, you're a threat to society... doesn't make a difference if you're gay, straight, bi, whatever. If you don't have a ton of kids, you're a threat to society because it will be easier for your marriage to unravel, etc."

"Santorum is one of the stalwart defenders of human life and the pro-family cause, and his leadership within the halls of government has been invaluable to our nation and its people.”—James C. Dobson, Founder and Chairman, Focus on the Family"

I can see the two men liking each other so much. They both have a thing for dogs.

O'Connor to Retire From Supreme Court

Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, the first woman appointed to the Supreme Court and a key swing vote on issues such as abortion and the death penalty, said Friday she is retiring. O'Connor, 75, said she expects to leave before the start of the court's next term in October, or whenever the Senate confirms her successor. There was no immediate word from the White House on who might be nominated to replace O'Connor...read on
